About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources (HR) Business Partner to provide strategic HR advice to leaders and employees, supporting workforce planning, capability development, recruitment, employee relations, and change management. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within our State Government Client's organization by delivering tailored HR services, ensuring seamless collaboration across People & Culture (P&C), and driving improvements in workforce engagement and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Advisory: Partner with leaders and staff to understand business needs and provide expert advice on HR matters including workforce and succession planning, performance development, employee relations, and legislative compliance.
  • Workforce & Succession Planning: Assist leaders with understanding current and future workforce needs and planning for organizational success.
  • Employee Relations & Policy Interpretation: Provide guidance on public sector legislation, policies, and agreements to manage sensitive employee matters, including advocacy for tribunals and commissions.
  • Workplace Health & Safety: Advise on workplace health, safety, and rehabilitation matters, offering early intervention and case management support.
  • Research & Policy Development: Undertake research to inform policy and strategic documents, ensuring compliance and alignment with best practices.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with P&C colleagues to deliver HR expertise and contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in HR management, including deep knowledge of HRM legislation and policy.
  • Strong client-centric approach with the ability to navigate complex HR issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive improvements in workforce capabilities.
