About the role

Reporting to the Head of People Partnering, in this 12-month contract role, you will be both people and commercially focused, playing a key role in supporting leaders to facilitate a positive culture underpinned by high performing and highly engaged team members. You'll partner with the executive and senior leadership teams, identifying and implementing strategic and practical HR solutions that will help deliver our business objectives of making tennis the activity of choice for everyone and to create the world’s leading sporting and entertainment event.

Areas of responsibilities includes but is not limited to; workforce planning and organisational design, employee relations, talent development, talent management, employee engagement, remuneration and benefits, performance management and diversity & inclusion.

In this role you will:

  • Translate business needs into meaningful and relevant HR practices to deliver people solutions that are aligned to business objectives
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with leaders by building in-depth knowledge of the business, strategy and objectives
  • Using HR data and insights, develop bespoke people plans that address areas for improvement e.g. retention strategies
  • Build line management capability through regular coaching and upskilling and identify training/development needs
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Provide professional, strategic and operational HR advice and support that are in the best interest of the organisation
  • Drive completion of the annual performance and development review process, providing guidance up to and throughout the process ensuring quality conversations are being held
  • Support the wider team in the HR service during the AO and other tennis tournaments and events as required

What you will bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated experience in a HR Business Partner role. 5-10 years preferable and experience working with commercial/sales teams beneficial
  • Strong understanding of current ER legislation
  • Well-developed organisation & HR management skills: must be able to broker solutions, develop concepts into recommendations, and deliver on time and within budget
  • Ability to set priorities, manage your time and workload and dependably meet strict deadlines
  • A confident, can-do attitude and a willingness to enable stakeholders to effectively do their job
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office and HRIS
  • Experience with an HCM system (Workday preferable but not essential)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, HRM or IR and/or suitable and transferable workplace experience
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
