People and Culture Administrator - Part Time Fixed Term

About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre 
Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

About The Role 
We are looking for an organising superstar to join the team as a People & Culture Administrator for a parental leave replacement period. This part time position, until June 30, 2025, is part of a small, close-knit, experienced and supportive team of P&C professionals. 
The role supports ASRC’s workforce by keeping our databases accurate, files up to date and ensures onboarding and offboarding processes are followed across the organisation. This includes ensuring compliance checks are completed and records are accurage and maintainted. Its the perfect blend of volunteer and staff administration. 

About You
You have high level organisational skills with exemplary attention to detail - nothing gets by you. Along with previous experience in a similar role or a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or similar, you will also have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - being the key communication between potential staff and volunteers you will put our best foot forward from the start of the employment process.
  • Its a given that you have excellent MS Office, email management and web-based software skills - and if you have previous experience with Salesforce, Job Adder, Flare HR that is highly valued.
  • Excellent time-management skills and prioritisation skills - there’s a bit to juggle in this role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with both internal and external stakeholders 
  • Strong problem solving skills 
  • Ability to supervise volunteers to support the functions of a program
  • Previous experience with process improvement desirable

Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable as is knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia.
