We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a National Head of Workplace Relations to join our team at the OTR Group. Based at our head office in Adelaide, this pivotal leadership role will shape the strategic direction and management of workplace relations across our national operations.
Responsibilities:
As the National Head of Workplace Relations, you will report directly to the Chief People Officer and be a vital member of the OTR People Leadership Team. Your expertise in industrial and employee relations will be crucial in fostering a positive workplace culture and driving employee engagement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a national industrial relations strategy to drive commercial outcomes, enhance employee engagement and mitigate business risk. This requires a forward-thinking leader who can anticipate challenges and opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the workplace relations and advisory teams, fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth. Inspire your team to achieve their best and support their development.
- Cultural Transformation: Drive a positive workplace relations climate during complex organisational changes and transformations. Be a steady and motivating presence during times of transition.
- Centre of Excellence: Establish strong credibility with the CEO and Retail Leadership Team as a workplace and industrial relations expert. Provide insightful advice on complex and sensitive matters, demonstrating your deep knowledge and expertise.
- Industrial Disputation: Lead the OTR Group’s response to industrial disputes and business continuity planning for industrial actions. Navigate key negotiations with trade unions and other representative forums with a focus on business performance, employee engagement, and legal compliance.
- Collaboration: Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging cross-functional partnerships and knowledge sharing. Build strong relationships across the organisation to drive collective success.
- People Risk Management: Oversee the investigation of complex and commercially sensitive workplace relations matters. Provide high-level advice and guidance to senior leaders, demonstrating sound judgment and strategic thinking.
About you:
- Tertiary qualified in Law, Human Resources or a related field.
- Deep experience and expertise in both industrial and employee relations.
- Skilled in enterprise bargaining, including strategy applying both a compliance and commercial lens.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills and a track record of effectively leading teams through significant change and transformation.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to manage and influence people.
- Skilled in developing and leading high performing teams.
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, well organised and comfortable with managing data.
- Interstate / intrastate travel as required.
