Work Health & Safety Coordinator
BCAC is seeking a professional, motivated and passionate Work, Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team in the Bankstown LGA on a permanent part-time basis (3 days a week).

About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our People & Culture team. This hands-on role will see you utilising every aspect of your WHS experience to support the delivery of services at BCAC.
Key accountabilities of this role include:
WHS Management:
- Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of work health and safety management systems to meet legislation and BCAC policies.
- Lead best practices to establish, monitor and maintain BCAC's WHS policy, process and systems.
- Develop and maintain a suite of reports and dashboards for the business to identify, monitor and track WHS trends.
- Oversee incident management and risk mitigation involving systems and audits to identify and address hazards, reducing risks and preventing accidents.
- Resolve problems using professional expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action and implications for work health and safety activities.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive work health and safety issues.
- Work independently with the support of the People and Culture Team.
Skills you’ll need to succeed
- A Minimum of 3 years experience in a WHS or similar role
- Advanced computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with employee consultation and communication management.
- Self-motivated person with high levels of initiative and ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to establish rapport with people from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to understand and apply WHS legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
