The Senior Safety Partner role will work within the Central Coast Council Safety team and partner collaboratively with the leadership team of Water and Sewer. It will lead safety in the Water and Sewer business in line with the Corporate Safety Management System and will focus on driving improvements and cultural change with a strong focus on the needs of business operations in Water and Sewer. You will also work closely with a variety of professional and operational teams to ensure best practice safety standards are implemented.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • working closely with business units to develop staff and leadership capability to build a safety culture within teams
  • coach leaders on building a safe work environment
  • undertake work, health and safety investigations
  • provide advice on work health and safety policy and legislation.

About you:

  • You have a degree qualification in a related field or extensive contemporary experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional development
  • You are experienced in undertaking work health and safety investigations and have Lead auditor qualifications
  • You have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • You have a NSW Construction Induction card
  • You have experience in working in a Water Utility or a similar regulated Authority industry body
  • You enjoy sharing your knowledge and expertise, while also learning from others
  • Having a work/life balance is important to you

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $92,175k to $110,588k per annum dependent on skills and experience + 10.5% superannuation. 

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $165 per week ($8,580 per annum) is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.
