NSW Opposition launches petition against compensation changes
The New South Wales Labor Opposition has launched a petition against the State Government’s cuts to workers compensation.
"The O'Farrell Government's unprecedented cuts to workers' compensation will mean that if a nurse here at Prince of Wales Hospital is unlucky enough to be injured at work, he or she would be left facing financial ruin,” Shadow Health Minister Andrew McDonald said.
"For the first time in decades, workers will no longer be looked after if they are injured on their way to or from work,” Dr McDonald said.
Dr McDonald said the cuts to injured workers came on top of the 3,600 job losses planned for NSW hospitals under the O'Farrell Government.
