The Federal Government is calling for contribution from the broader community to assist in designing the ‘ultimate model for job services in Australia’, with the first series of a nationwide stakeholder sessions held in Hobart last week.

Federal Minister for Employment, Kate Ellis, said the sessions were crucial for the design process of Australia’s future employment services, which will operate from July 2015.

"These consultations will build on our Issues Paper released in December last year—we want to hear from employers, stakeholders, providers and job seekers about how we can better meet the needs of job seekers and work in partnership with employers to get even more Australians into jobs,” Ms Ellis said.

The consultation sessions will take place in capital cities and selected regional centres.

Consultation with job seekers, employers and employment service providers to get their ideas on the issues paper will run until 15 March 2013, with written submissions closing on that date.
