$106 million for NT workforce
The Northern Territory Government has slated $106 million out of the Territory Budget for workforce development initiatives, a $6 million increase over last year.
Minister for Business, David Tollner, said that the Government was committed to increasing training and growing the economy.
Around $8.3 million will go to workforce growth (planning, business, skilled migration and worker attraction) and about $98.1 million will be spent on training.
“We are committed to supporting Territorians to train up and benefit from our growing economy,” Mr Tollner said.
“We want to train Territorians for Territory jobs and we recognise the unique opportunities that the northern part of Australia has to offer.”
